Thank you very much!
All the programming languages I tried so far are perfectly readable (from C/C++ to Postscript, Perl, Bash scripting, HTML, plain text, ecc...).

Thank you so much. I'd want to ask you, that since you are using this and I'm exactly the same about screen colors, I suppose that you'd also want the whole screen to be black with white fonts, including the menus, file browser, error console etc etc., and anyway the biggest possible part of the screen to be dark so that your eyes are not distracted - hurt by white light from the sides of the screen. If that is so, have you found any way of configuring any other parts besides the kate editor part? My dark (white on black) gnome theme doesnt seem to affect anything although this is normal since KDevelop is a KDE app. I haven't tried anything about KDE themes, yet. since I'm running on a gnome desktop. Is a KDE theme what I'm looking for?
Again thank you for sharing.

Definitely follow the advice from post #3

Barriers are lost in devicemapper layer, so unless you use a filesystem right on top of the md (or DR:BD) devices you are in this situation.

[ ] Faster
[ ] Safe
chose one.

I'll add some moreo n that in my blog and link back here

Thanks for the nxt-tools. The brick mounting via fuse works nicely here. I added a front-end script to my path and now can simply enter `mount-nxt` and open /media/nxt in a file manager:

#!/usr/bin/env python
# -*- coding: utf8 -*-
# :Copyright: © 2010 Günter Milde.
# Released without warranties or conditions of any kind
# under the terms of the Apache License, Version 2.0
# 	      http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

"""Mount a Lego Mindstorms NXTbrick

Default mount-point is /media/nxt

Requires nxttools, nxt_python, and python-fuse.
"""

import sys
import nxtools.fuse.nxt_fs

# specify default mountpoint:

if not sys.argv:
    sys.argv = ["mount-nxt"]

if len(sys.argv) < 2:
    sys.argv.append('/media/nxt')

nxtools.fuse.nxt_fs.main()
